Rare Volvo V40, great looking wagon. Please read full ad. This car runs and drives good and is basically rust/dent free with a few small imperfections. No leaks that I can see, brakes firm, steering tight, etc. Paint appears to be all original and does not appear to have been in an accident. Most all systems are working fine. The major exception is the blower motor for the interior climate control. It appears that the fan itself is bad, but I came across two used ACC head units that I will include. The center muffler is also rusted out so car is a bit loud (it is all there, not falling down). Tires are safe but not good for winter. I have a like new set of General Altimax Arctics that I will include for an extra $150 (will add pix). This car has 180K and records from about 2014-on. It had only 125K around that time and was then used to commute on highway in North Dakota for a few years. There is a hand written record of the timing belt having been changed (and a Gates sticker under the hood), records for oil changes and front struts and stabilizer links, among others. It has had the check engine light on for many years with no running issues. The airbag light is also on. Interior is pretty clean and dry, seats a bit worn, no smells other than the usual Volvo leather aroma. How I came to this car: I have owned countless 240 740 940s as well as a 960 and an 850. I have always liked the V40. A neighbor drove this for about a year and ended up hitting something in the road, which cracked the oil pan. He was just a few blocks from home and was able to see that it was leaking oil, engine NOT driven without oil. I have a hobby of saving the random Volvo (usually at a loss), and this one was a good project for me. I sourced a used oil pan and installed it using the Mathews Volvo website instructions. I got the kit from FCP Euro including the $43 a tube Volvo gasket sealant (see pix). I have replaced a head gasket on a 960 so am familiar with the whole process. So, engine also has new seals in the oil pick ups (which can go bad and cause low oil pressure) so all set there. I changed the oil/filter (synthetic) and coolant. Spark plugs are nice and tan (OEM Volvo). The engine sounds very good, no mechanical noise, no smoke, no overheating, no oil light. These 4-cyl 1.9T motors don't seem to have head gasket problems, that I have seen. About 2 weeks after buying this car I also bought a house and am now moving. I just do not have time to finish the few things it needs. My goal was to save it and get it back on the road for another Volvo person anyway as I have 3 other Volvos. Title is clear and in my name. If you are in MN it also has new tabs. If you are out of state the car will not come with the license plates. This car is priced as a project so expect to do the work noted above. I understand that shipping can take a week or so to arrange but please be ready to purchase and transport car. The first bid will win. Never been exposed to salt or snow! *Strong 4cyl turbo station wagon with tinted windows and sunroof, cd and cassette player *Power locks and seats *Never smoked in and always adult owned *Has 199k miles and is currently my daily driver *Burns oil, I just keep it topped off rather than replace the main-seal (I have a guy that can do it for about 600$. *Heat and ac both work, but blow full force (blower-motor?) *No check engine light on! *New fuel-pump and sensor *New radiator and cam motion sensors in the last 18 months *Back tires are 90% front tires are 75% *Factory spare and original owners manual and service records *Clear-coat peeling in places but no rust and no body damage *Only the drivers seat has a tear, rear seats and passenger seat/dash are perfect! **Like I said it does burn oil and it is 17 years old but it will get you there and do so quite safely. *Drive it way, clean title in hand and registered until Feb 2019!
